STATE is a design-driven creative studio based in Los Angeles, focused on crafting moving images that move people – whether for fun or for something more serious. Described as a “secret agency,” STATE exists to take strong ideas and stories and make sure they look and move beautifully.

Marcel Ziul is the Founder and Executive Creative Director of STATE. He began his career in Brazil in the early 2000s, working across the country with leading local talent and clients. In 2006, seeking a complete creative reset, he relocated to Los Angeles after years of experience in both inspiring and challenging studio environments. There, he founded STATE as a place to do things his own way, setting new creative and collaborative standards.

Since then, Ziul has worked with top global brands including Google, Apple, Nike, Amazon, ESPN, NFL, Facebook, FX, UFC, and Under Armour. Since 2014, Ziul and the STATE team have received numerous industry honors, including Emmy Awards, MTV VMAs, and Promax recognition. Today, Ziul channels his international experience into work that reflects the realities of creative life, emphasizing intention, vulnerability, and continuous evolution.
